In the past ten years the UK market for ethical goods and services has grown three fold according to a Co-operative bank report issued at the very end of 2009. It examines a whole range ........from energy efficient appliances to Fair Trade goods but concludes that "In order for the UK to reduce its carbon emissions by 30 per cent by 2020 there will need to be a step change in the take-up of low carbon technologies, and this will need a new contract between business, government and the consumer.
