MBC FaST policy
MBC Fair and Sustainable Team’ policy as I see it
Many MBC people do care for the environment but many do not have time or means to look for information about how they can make a difference in their daily life or about the positive and negative implications of their actions.
It is with armed with reliable facts that MBC people can make informed and free decisions in the way they contribute to reconciling God’s creation to the Creator.
I am hoping that as a team we will support MBC people as they work to the development and conservation of the world’s resources for the material, emotional and spiritual well-being of people everywhere.
The hope is to help the rich and strong give the poor and vulnerable a better life through adopting or continuing to lead a fair and sustainable way of life.
We acknowledge that every human activity has consequences; it can either be edifying or destructive. We want to support and encourage edifying sustainable behaviours as much we can.
A good example of this is for us to raise an awareness of the economic, social and human implications of environmental disasters which force people to relocate, so that those disasters can be avoided or anticipated and that appropriate infrastructures etc are developed. Whether those disasters are caused by human activity or not, avoiding or adapting to them is undoubtedly human business and needs to be dealt with on a global scale.
The aim is not to make us all MBC members feel guilty about breathing carbon dioxide out. Rather it is to assist care for the environment and our neighbour across the world.
